Front Door Configuration Walkthrough
Purpose: This document is intended to provide a high level overview and functionality of Front Door within the Levelpath Platform through the perspective of an Organizational Administration role.
What is Front Door?
Front Door is a guide for the end users to get started on the right workflow for their needs. It directs the requester by providing a series of questions to narrow down the correct intake form or resource to begin their request. See photos below for example step order.
EXAMPLE: Requester View
In this example, the user is requesting Software & Hardware. The user completes the intake and is directed into the project associated with the request. You will see the steps needed to complete the request.
Front Door Configuration (For Admin Users)
Accessing Configuration
Administrators have the capability to view the current published path by:
1) Clicking Front Door Editor.
2) The page will automatically show the list of Published, Archived, and Draft Front Door configurations:
To Edit Front Door:
Click on the most recent draft OR select "+New Draft". You will then be brought to the current path with the ability to edit the configuration that mimics the user experience stakeholders will see in Front Door.
Within a Front Door draft, users can create a custom banner to highlight key information. The banner can be configured with:
- A company logo.
- Custom text to share important messages or instructions.
This provides a clear, branded experience for stakeholders accessing the Front Door.
-
Eye Icon: Allows users to quickly hide or unhide a configured banner with a single click.
- Pencil Icon: Opens a configuration pop-up where users can set up banners for both Front Door and AI Front Door, including:
-
- Uploading a logo and logo banner.
- Setting a title and message.
- Uploading a logo and logo banner.
Note: AI Front Door also supports configurable instruction prompts that allow you to tailor guidance to your organization’s processes and terminology. By customizing these prompts, stakeholders receive the right follow-up questions and direction aligned with how your team works.
This feature is not yet customer-facing. To enable or configure AI instruction prompts in your account, please contact Levelpath Support for assistance.
Important Terms regarding Front Door:
- Branch - refers to an extension of the Path to add questions to continue toward an endpoint
- Endpoint - the final option that directs end users to a project or a resource
You will have the option to Edit the opening question, add a new branch, or edit the current branches, and edit any endpoints. You will also see additional functionality with the ability to drag and drop the order of the branches to best suit your needs.
When clicking on a current branch, you will follow a similar user experience as the Requester, through the splits and endpoints. When you click on the last step in a branch, an Endpoint will pop up on the right hand side with options to configure.
To edit the branch name, add and icon, copy or remove a branch:
1) hover your cursor over the specific branch
2) select ‘Edit Option’ (pencil), 'Copy Option' (squares), or ‘Delete Option’ (red trash can):
To Paste a copied branch or endpoint, click the + in the desired new location and click the 'Copy option to paste'
What is an Endpoint?
An end point is the final option that directs the end user to a project or an external resource. All routes created within Front Door need to have an endpoint or will result in an error.
Types of endpoints:
- Connect to a Project (provide an intake)
- Link to URL
- Informational
Note: When selecting a project as an endpoint, the Administrator needs to set a default Project Lead. The Project Lead will be able to oversee and facilitate a request as it goes through each step within a project. To configure a particular project, the Administrator will need to head to a different panel within Admin called ‘Project’.
How do you publish your Draft?
When a draft is completed and ready to be published, select the Version tab in the toolbar. The Administrator will then be able to select the Publish Draft.
You have successfully completed the Front Door Configuration! 🚀
