Conditional Question Configuration Guide
Purpose
This guide provides an overview of the Conditional Questions functionality within the Levelpath Platform from the perspective of an Organizational Administrator.
What are Conditional Questions?
Conditional Questions allow administrators to configure additional fields that appear based on user input in a selected field. This functionality enhances flexibility by dynamically adding clarifying questions depending on responses to initial questions.
Where Can Conditional Questions Be Used?
Conditional Questions can be set up in:
- Step Action Templates
- Project Definition
These fields can be applied to both intake forms and project step fields.
Conditional question logic can be configured for:
✔ Single-select fields
✔ Multi-select fields
How can I set up Conditional Questions?
- When setting up a Conditional Question field you will be able to choose from existing Field Groups that will be added as additional fields (in case the conditions are met), this is why the needed Field Groups must be created in advance.
To create and edit Field Groups go to “Project Editor” drop down and select “Field Groups”.
In this section you will be able to see the existing Field Groups and create a new one by selecting “+New Field Group”.
- When the Field Groups are in place you can go to Project Configuration (or Step template editor) to set up conditional question logic for a field.
You can find out more about Project Configuration in this article.
Find the field that you want to set up with conditional question logic or create a new field and add it to the form. Keep in mind that this can be set-up for single/multi select fields.
Select “...” and click “Edit Field”.
Select “Conditional Field Logic” within the field editor and click “Create condition”.
Here you will be able to configure the conditional logic for the specific field:
- The logic is based on “equal” or “not equal” conditions in relation to the selected answer option.
- You can set up several condition rules.
- Then select the field group you want to show to the user if the conditions are met.
- Select “Add condition” to add this conditional field rule.
You can add several Conditional Field Logic configurations to one step.
When you have finished editing the step click “Save field” and publish the project.
The same workflow is used to configure the Conditional Field Logic within Step Templates.
